Welcome to the Chair for Databases and Information Systems
The Chair for Databases and Information Systems is focusing on research in the area of databases and process-based information systems. These two domains also constitute the main pillars in our course syllabus.
Both in research and in teaching we put two aspects of information systems into the center: the reconstruction of logical foundations of information systems and the translation of theoretical and conceptual research results into practical IT solutions.
Our lectures address a wide range of modern information systems topics, not only for students of the computer science institute but also for industrial engineers, mathematicians etc. to prepare future leaders of our society.
Our goal is to strengthen analytical knowledge, to develop decision competencies and to deepen the understanding of complex information systems and databases. Therefore, our lectures are covering a wide range of database and information system technologies, e.g. data modeling, database implementation, database querying, data mining, information system architecure and process management.
